1. Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double
The City Tour 2 Double stroller is the smallest in the Baby Jogger range. It was designed specifically for travel, and can fit through doors that are standard with its narrow and slim design. It’s also one the lightest double buggies on the market with a weight of just 14lbs when folded. This makes it perfect for traveling with a toddler and newborn since you won’t exceed the luggage allowances of airlines. It can also be folded into the size of a small travel bag so you can store it in the back of your car.
It’s easy to fold the Z-shape by using one hand. Once you get used to it, it is compact and only takes just a few seconds. Our tester found the auto-lock somewhat confusing, and because the handlebar doesn’t lock into its position when you push it and it landed on her leg when she was using it. She also felt the handlebar was a little too short particularly with a large changing bag hanging from it.
In contrast to other travel buggies that are lightweight, this doesn’t skimp on features and is among the most comprehensive double strollers on the market. It’s compatible with two carry cots (available separately), features multiple recline positions as well as a UV 50+ canopy. You can add an additional bassinet to either or both seats to make it a travel system.
The four rubber composite wheels are ideal for pavements and urban terrain, but they’re not built for off-roading. They struggled on gravel and long grass and there’s a lack of clearance between the bracket and the wheel, so mud was able to get stuck easily. Our tester loved this buggy and was able to climb some beautiful muddy hills.
